New Meet information and calendars

 November calendars are available in the pool area.  Make sure you check the calendar daily, as times will fluctuate daily.  

 

The Oak Hill entries are due back to Marcie NO LATER than next Thursday, November 7th, at the end of practice.  This is a great meet for all swimming levels.  It is a one day meet which makes it very nice for the newer swimmers!  The meet will be held Saturday, November 23rd. 

 

Some swimmers have qualified for the IM Xtreme Meet November 16-17 at the IU Natatorium.  This meet is only for those that have competed in certain events and have achieved a certain number of points.   There is also a meet on the same days that is called the IM Ready.  There are also qualifying scores for that meet as well. There will be swimmers here from 5-6 states. I do know that anyone who participates, must swim the 5-6 required events.  There is information posted on Indiana Swimming web page.  If you are interested, please email a coach to see if your child has qualified for this meet. However, the deadline to enter this meet is Friday of this week. So, if you are somewhat interested, please check with Missy and she will let you know if your swimmer has qualified.  This is a great opportunity for the kids to swim in the Natatorium

 

 

FAST Meet information

The information for the FAST meet at Fishers High School on December 6-8 is available at the pool.    We have received an email that they are opening an early entry for returning teams.  If you are not familiar with this meet, there are approximately 800 swimmers and the meet will fill up with teams from several states.  Therefore, we need to get our entries in so that we are assured a spot in the meet.  They will have to turn teams away.  This meet is prelims/finals meet for the 11 and older swimmers and a  timed finals meet for 10 and under. Attention Jay County High School Girl Swimmers:  If you are interested in participating in this meet, talk to Coach Slavick for a waiver. 

 

This is the same weekend that we are offering the CARD meet at Muncie Central High School and we do not need to post that info. yet.

 

If you are wondering which meet to attend, the FAST  meet is geared for the Blue team swimmers, but everyone is welcome to attend.  The CARD meet is a much more relaxed atmosphere and they have special heat winners with Christmas music and it is a very nice meet for the younger kids.  It does have a Christmas theme!! If you have any questions about which meet would be best for your swimmer, please talk to a coach. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Important Information

NOTICE: for those of you that are scheduled to have a swimmer swim in the morning session this weekend at our JAY meet.  The timeline has been pushed back 1 hour.  9-10 year old swimmers and 13 & over swimmers will need to report to the pool at 7:30 a.m. and be ready to be in the water at 7:45.  The meet will begin at 9:00 a.m.  The afternoon session will remain as scheduled.  8 & under swimmers and 11-12 swimmers need to be at the pool at 11:45 a.m. and ready to be in the water at 12:00 noon with the meet scheduled to begin at 1:15 p.m. In order for the meet to run smoothly, all volunteers to report at least 30 minutes before the scheduled start time.

 

 There are a few JAY caps available and more have been ordered.  The caps are white silicone caps (thicker caps) with JAY in blue and red.  They are not mandatory, but they do look very nice and it makes it easier to recognize our swimmers - especially when we are at a larger meet.  The cost of the caps are $12.00 each.  (At least that is the price of the caps that are on hand.  (The price on the new caps may increase based on when the caps are received and the invoice price)

 

REMINDER:  ALL NOBLESVILLE MEET ENTRIES ARE DUE THURSDAY, OCTOBER 17 AT THE END OF PRACTICE - this is a nice meet.  It is a large meet, but we have always had a great experience there.  It is open to all swimmers!

 

This is a list of the TENTATIVE meet schedule. For those of you that have been with the team in the past, you will see that many of them are the same as what we have done in recent years.  Please remember that this is TENTATIVE!

25-27:  FWA FALL CLASSIC - veteran swimmers only

 

NOVEMBER:

 

8-10:  NOBLESVILLE ICE BREAKER

15-17:  IM Xtreme and IM Ready (this is a qualifying meet for some - more info to follow)

23:  Oak Hill - this is a great meet for new swimmers, but everyone is welcome to attend

 

DECEMBER:

 

6-8: Christmas CARD at Muncie Central High School

6-8:  FAST Santa Claus Classic at Fishers High School

 

JANUARY:

 

10-12:  Robbin Lindsey Memorial - Yorktown High School

24-26:  FWA Winter Classic or WTSC (we will not offer both, we have not decided which one)

 

FEBRUARY - MARCH:

 

Feb.16:  TRAC Polar Bear - we will only attend on Sunday

Feb. 28-Mar. 2:  Bearcat Invitational - Lawrence North High School

This will be the end of the season for anyone that has not qualified for the Divisional Meet or the State Meet

 

MARCH:

7-9:  Divisional Meet for Divisional Qualifiers only

14-16:  Age Group State Qualifiers

21-23:  Senior State Qualifiers

Noblesville Meet information

We will be attending the Noblesville Ice Breaker 2013 meet on November 8-10 in Noblesville, IN.   Meet information will be available at the pool tonight or the link is posted under meets on the blog.  The entries are due back Thursday, October 17 at the very latest.  If at all possible, please turn in ASAP so Marcie can begin working on them. 

Swim suit try-ons

Reminder, tonight (Thursday) from 4:00-5:00pm Poco Loco will be present for swim suit try-ons.  Team suits are not mandatory.  Other swim items will be available tonight as well.

Please help out by signing up to donate items for the Jay Invite and sign up to work during the meet.  If you have any questions please ask.  It takes everyone to make the meet a success.

Please take time to sign up for items to be donated for the Jay Invite on October 19. Items are needed for the concession stand and hospitality room.   Parents are also needed to work during the meet.  It takes all swimmers and parents to make this event a success.  The donation list and sign up sheet for working during the sessions can be found on the desk in the swimming pool.
