Practice Schedule for January

The practice schedule for the month of January has been added to the calendar.  On Monday, January 2nd, all teams will start at 3:30.  Red and Blue teams will practice until 4:45 and the White team will be done at 4:15.  All teams will start at 7:30 on Tuesday and Thursday, with Red and Blue done at 8:45 and White finished at 8:15.  Blue team will have their usual Wednesday 6:15-7:15 practice.  Hard copies of the entire month schedule should be in the pool this week.   

BSU Meet Posted

The entry letter for the BSU Sprint Invitational is linked on our Meet Schedule page.  This is a one day meet on Sunday, January 29th at the Lewellen Aquatic Center at Ball State University.  It is a great meet for all level swimmers, and is one of the few Swim Your Own Age meets for the 12 and unders that we attend during the season.  (11 year olds make up an age group, 12 year olds another, etc.)  This is also the only chance for 13 and up swimmers to swim their events as 50's.  Entries are due Thursday, January 5th. 

FWA Meet Posted

The entry letter to the FWA Winter Classic on January 20-22 is linked to our Meet Schedule page.  This is a prelims/finals format for 11 and up and the usual timed finals for 10 and under.  Entry sheets are on the desk at the pool and are due Tuesday, December 27th. 

Yorktown Meet on Schedule

The entry letter for the Robbin Lindsey Memorial Meet at Yorktown High School is linked to our Meet Schedule page.  This is our first meet of 2012 and is scheduled for the weekend of January 6-8.  This is a good meet for all level swimmers.  Entries are due by Thursday, December 15th.       

FAST Meet on Meet Page

The entry letter for the FAST Santa Claus Classic on December 4-6 is linked to our Meet Schedule page - the letter is not posted on Indiana Swimming yet.  This meet is at the Fishers High School Aquatic Center in Fishers and will be a prelims/finals format.  This means 11 and up swimmers will swim prelims in the morning and the top 20 will return to swim in the finals at night.  10 and under swimmers will swim in a timed finals format like always in the afternoon.  The due date is Tuesday, November 8th.  This is a quick turnaround, but this is a popular meet and it does fill up quickly.  A master copy of the letter and the meet entry pages are on the desk at the pool.

Two New Meets Posted

The links to entry information for two new meets have been added to our Meet Schedule page.  The first is the Oak Hill Swim Club Eagle Invitational at Oak Hill High School in Converse on Saturday, November 19th.  It is a one day meet with a format like our JAY meet.  Entries for this meet are due Monday, October 31st.  The second meet is the CARD Christmas Card Invite on December 9-11.  This meet is at Muncie Central High School, and since it is close, we always like to have a big JAY turnout.  Entry deadline is Monday, November 7th.

We are going to start going "green" with these entries.  A master copy of the entire meet letter will be posted at the pool, but only the event pages will be printed.  Please mark your entries and turn in to Marcie.  You can access the meet letter at your convenience through the Meet Schedule links.    

Thanks For a Great Meet!

Thanks to all the parents, coaches, swimmers and volunteers for a terrific JAY Fall Invitational Meet!  There were some great swims and everyone had a good time.  Your help and donations are appreciated - we couldn't do it without you!

Noblesville Meet Entry

The entry letter for the Noblesville Ice Breaker is linked to our Meet Schedule page.  This meet will be held November 4-6 at Noblesville High School and will be a good opportunity for our swimmers to get familiar with the facility that will be the site of our divisional meet in March.  Entries will be due on Monday, October 17th.  Copies of the information will also be on the desk in the pool.

FWA Meet Entry Posted

The entry information for the Fort Wayne Aquatics Fall Classic is linked to our Meet page.  This meet is at the Helen P. Brown Natatorium at Fort Wayne Southside H.S.  It is a three day meet, with only one session each day.  (All age groups swim in the same session - two pools in use).  This makes it a quick half-day commitment in a great facility.  This meet is open to veteran swimmers with a current membership and entries are due October 6th.  New swimmers - your first meet will be the JAY Fall Invite.

Go ahead and check out the events and be ready to sign up  Entries are due October 13th.  We want to see all JAY swimmers there!

JAY Fall Invite

Mark your calendars - the JAY Fall Invite is on the schedule for Saturday, October 22.  Last year we had a great meet in a wonderful facility and we want to repeat that again.  We will need the help of parents to make it run smoothly (we can't do it without you!) and we would like to see 100% participation from the JAY swimmers.  If you are new to the team, don't worry, this a great meet for the "first time" swimmer.

Parent Information Meeting

The 2011-12 winter season begins with a parent information meeting at 7:00 on Monday, October 3rd at Jay County High School.  This is for both old and new swimmers and will cover important information for the season, such as fees, schedules, suit orders, and JAY meet plans.  There will be no swimming this night - the first night in the water for the swimmers will be Tues. Oct. 4.  See you on Monday, October 3. 

Veteran Swim Practices Scheduled

Welcome Back!  Practices have been scheduled for veteran swimmers with current club memberships.  The schedule is Monday 9-19 and Tuesday 9-20 5:45-6:45.  Practice on Wednesday 9-21 will be 5:30-6:30.  The following week Monday 9-26 and Thursday 9-29 will be 5:45-6:45, with Wednesday 9-28 going from 5:30-6:30.  Just a reminder, the Wednesday practices are for Blue team only.  Fire up for another successful season and see you there!

Pizza Party and Annual Meeting

The end of season pizza party and annual meeting will be at the Jay County High School commons at 6:00 PM on Monday, April 4.  Pizza and drinks will be provided by the team, with a dessert or salad provided by each family.  After dinner and a season wrap-up and brief meeting, the pool will be open for family swim.  See you there.

2010/2011 Divisional and State Finals

Congratulations to all our 2010/2011 Divisional and State Finals swimmers!  It has been a great season with several personal best times and medalists. 

Don't forget about the Pizza and Awards Party on Monday, April 4th at the High School.

Practice Schedule for Tuesday, 2-22

Practice for today (2-22) has been moved to a start time of 4:30 for all groups.  White team will finish at 5:15, Red at 5:45 and Blue at 6:00.

Here is the practice schedule for next week:
  Mon. 2- 21 - all start at 3:45, White done at 4:30, Red at 4:45, Blue at 5:00
  Tues. 2-22 and Thurs. 2-24 - all start at 5:30, White done at 6:15, Red at 6:45, Blue at 7:00
  Wed. 2-23 - Blue only from 5:30-6:30

Practice Cancelled

Mother Nature strikes again - practice  for tonight (2-1) has been cancelled due to the closure of Jay Schools and the really nasty storm headed our way.  If Jay Schools are closed tomorrow, our practice will be cancelled as well.

Practice for this afternoon (Tuesday, 1-11) has been cancelled for all teams. 

Practice Time Changes

Blue Team Practice for this Wednesday, January 12th has been rescheduled for 6:30-7:30.  The other time change is for Monday January 17th.  Since Jay Schools are closed for the day, practice times have been moved up.  White Team will be from 4-4:45, and Red/Blue Teams will be from 4-5:30.
