FAST Meet Due December 30th

Entry information for the Fishers Area Swimming Tigers Valentine's Invitational on February 11-13 has just been posted.  This meet will be held at the Fishers High School Natatorium; a nice facility and the new site for our Divisionals.  It is a prelims/finals for 11 and up swimmers, and timed finals for 10 and unders.  This is a large meet and fills up quickly (we have been turned away in the past) so there is a quick turn around on entries.  Entries will be due to Marcie by THURSDAY, DECEMBER 30TH.  Hard copies of the entry information are on the desk in the pool, or a link to the information can be found on the meet schedule page.  If you are not attending practice this week, check out the information on the link, and e-mail your entries to Marcie.  Late entries cannot be accepted.        

Practice Cancelled

Practices for today (12-22) have been cancelled due to the closure of Jay Schools.  Enjoy your holiday and see you back on Monday 12-27!

Two New Meets Posted

Two new meets have been posted.  The Pro Otters Mid-Winter Ice Breaker is a two day meet held January 8 & 9 at the Huntington YMCA.  The Fort Wayne Aquatics Winter Classic is January 21-23 at the Helen P. Brown Natorium in Fort Wayne.  This meet is a little different than our other meets, in that it is a prelims/finals meet for 11 and over swimmers.  This means that the top 16 will return to swim in the finals at night.  10 and unders and the Friday evening events will be timed finals, as they have been in our previous meets.  Entry information is on the desk at the pool, or links to the information can be found on the Meets page.  ENTRY DEADLINE FOR BOTH MEETS IS THURSDAY, DECEMBER 16. 

CARD Meet Entry Due

Entries for the CARD meet on December 10-12 are due on Tuesday, November 23.  Forms are on the desk at the pool, or a link to the information is in the meets section.  This is a nice meet and an opportunity to support CARD in return for helping us with our meet.  In addition, it is one of the closest meets to home.  No late entries will be accepted.

Optional Practices and Time Changes for a few practices

We have added two optional practices to the schedule for November 18th and November 22nd.  We will now be holding these two optional practices from 3:30-4:30 p.m.  We will need to make sure that everyone has a ride as close to that time as possible as there will be high school teams coming in for a meet.

Also, the schedule has the red and blue teams ending at 7:45 on Nov. 16, 23, 24, 29 and 30th.  The blue team will actually stay and have practice until 8:00p.m. on those dates.  There may be changes that need to be made on the December schedule as well.  There are many times that the red team will be finished 10-15 minutes ahead of the blue team if the practice is listed as a 90 minute practice. This may not be the case every time, but we just wanted to let you know for future practices.  If your child ever needs to get out early, just have them tell a coach and it is not a problem.   Sorry for all of the confusion, but we will try to make future schedules more specific.

MONDAY's PRACTICE ENDS EARLY

Due to a scheduled power outage at Jay County High School on Monday evening (November 8th) , everyone MUST be out of the building by 7:15pm.

Blue Team Practice Change for Today (Wed. 11-3)

Due to the closure of Jay Schools today, Blue Team practice has been rescheduled for 5:15-6:15.

TRAC Meet Posted

Another meet has been added to the schedule.  Information on the TRAC Holly Daze Splash on December 4-5 has been posted on the meet page.  This meet is in Fort Wayne at the Helen P. Brown Natatorium.  Entries are due Nov. 11, and no entries will be accepted after this date. 

THANKS for supporting the Jay Fall Invitational

Congratulations to all the swimmers who participated in the First Annual Jay Fall Invitational swim meet on Saturday.  We appreciate the teams that came to the invitational :  CARD, FWA, PRO, DAC, Richmond, and Oak Hill. A HUGE thanks to Cardinal Swim Club for their guidance and help with volunteers and officials as we prepared for this event.  Also, we could not have put on this event without the many parent volunteers.  THANKS!

IMX Meet Information

JAY will be attending the USA Swimming IMX Challenge meet at the IUPUI Natatorium in Indianapolis on the weekend of November 20-21.  This is a qualification-only meet.  Swimmers must have a total of 1800 points in their required events.  For more information on the USA IMX program and the required events follow this link    http://www.usaswimming.org/DesktopDefault.aspx?TabId=1720&Alias=Rainbow&Lang=en-US   Please note that you need to use the IM X TREME (IMX) events, not the IM READY (IMR) events.

Change in Practice Schedule for 10-26

New practice times for Tuesday, October 26 - White and Blue Teams will follow the regularly scheduled practice times (White 6:00-6:45, Blue 6:00-7:30) and Red Team will come at 6:45-7:30.  This change is for that night only.

Reminders for JAY Fall Invitational

HELP WANTED! - We still need workers for the afternoon session of our meet on Saturday.  Please sign up to help. 

Each session of our meet, morning and afternoon, should last approximately two hours.

Donations for concession and hospitality may be brought to the pool on Thursday (during practice) or Friday 4:00-5:00 p.m.

Team Swimsuit Info
Swimsuit pickup on Thursday, Oct. 7th from 5pm until 6:30 or so.
Kelli will be here from Poco Loco for us to purchase suits that day.  She will also have other swim items available for sale. 
The cost for the team suits are: 
   Females sizes 22-28Y:  $56.24 + tax
   Female sizes 26-40A: $57.72 + tax
   Male jammers are $35.52 + tax

Deadlines and USA Swimming Registration Forms

Meet entry deadlines are due this week and next.  Be sure to check out the Meet page and also the calendar.

USA Swimming Registration forms need to be turned in by September 30th in order to participate in the Jay Fall Invitational meet.

USA Swimming requires COPIES OF THE ATHLETE's BIRTH CERTIFICATE!  This must accompany the  registration form and the $54.00 fee.

Jay County Swim Club News

Monday, September 20th begins the new season for the Jay County Swim Club.  All veteran members are welcome to start practice on the 20th. 

Don't forget PARENT MEETING, Monday, September 27th at 6:15pm at JCHS Pool.

Fall practice sessions begin soon...

*Veteran swimmers may begin practicing on Monday, Sept. 20th. We will hold practice on Monday, Tuesday and Thursdays from 6-7:30 p.m for two weeks until we begin practice for new swimmers.

*New swimmers may begin practice on Tuesday, October 5th.
